Not an obligation, but a beautiful Sunnah: morning Azkar dua is a highly recommended Sunnah, rather than a mandatory Fard. If you miss it due to an extremely busy life, Allah will not burden you with sin; but by spending just a few minutes reciting it, you will earn immeasurable blessings and rewards.
In Islamic jurisprudence and daily life, Morning Adhkar plays the following three crucial roles:
Not an obligation, but a beautiful Sunnah: Morning Adhkar is a highly recommended Sunnah, rather than a mandatory Fard. If you miss it due to an extremely busy life, Allah will not burden you with sin; but by spending just a few minutes reciting it, you will earn immeasurable blessings and rewards.
A Muslim's spiritual bulletproof vest: The Adhkar includes the last three short Surahs of the Quran and various protective supplications. They act as an invisible shield, protecting you and your family from unexpected harm, hidden plots, and unintentional evil eye and jealousy throughout the day.
The key to daily Barakah and provision: Whether you are about to go to work, open a shop, or go to school, the specific supplications praying for "beneficial knowledge and pure Rizq" can infuse Allah's help and Barakah into your work and endeavors for the day.
From the beginning of Fajr time until before Sunrise. If your morning is too rushed, making it up before Dhuhr will still grant you complete protection and rewards.
Morning Adhkar is not only a beautiful Sunnah highly praised by the Prophet (PBUH), but also a strong fortress for Muslims to gain protection in this world and rewards in the Hereafter. By consistently reciting it every morning, you will receive the following 5 priceless blessings:
Morning is the best time to seek refuge in Allah, the Most High and Great. Morning Adhkar includes the highly noble Ayat al-Kursi and the last three short Surahs (Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas). By reciting these revelations, we equip ourselves and our families with the armor provided by Allah for the new day. Through His power, we effectively ward off the whispers of Shaytan, the unintentional evil eye, the jealousy of others, and hidden calamities in our decree.
All provisions in this world are predestined by Allah. Before stepping out to seek our livelihood, we follow the Sunnah of the Prophet by asking Allah for "beneficial knowledge, pure Rizq, and accepted deeds." This is not only absolute Tawakkul in Allah but also a prayer for Him to send Barakah upon our studies, livelihood, and every good deed of the day, ensuring we do not forget the rewards of the Hereafter while pursuing worldly provisions.
The Quran says: "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." In the face of worldly burdens and trials, Morning Adhkar is our best path to purify the heart and seek peace. When we recite, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness," we are handing over all our affairs and burdens to the All-Knowing and All-Powerful Lord. This washes away inner cowardice and confusion, allowing us to face today's trials with awe and firm faith.
Health and sound senses are among the most precious blessings bestowed upon us by Allah. Morning Adhkar teaches us to recite three times every morning, asking Allah to grant 'Afiyah to our "body, hearing, and sight." This is not just a prayer for protection against illness and disaster, but also a reminder to always cherish this blessing, using our healthy bodies and senses in good deeds that obey and remember Allah.
Every awakening is a new life granted by Allah. Morning Adhkar includes the highly noble Sayyid al-Istighfar. The Prophet (PBUH) taught that whoever recites it with certainty in the morning and dies before that evening will be among the people of Paradise. Through sincere repentance and gratitude every morning, we reaffirm our firm belief in Tawhid, establish our faith in humility, and start the new day with a pure soul.
